English Babu Desi Mem (transl. English sir, Indian madam) is a 1996 Hindi-language romantic comedy film, starring Shah Rukh Khan in a triple role as father and twin sons, alongside Sonali Bendre. It is loosely based on the American romantic comedy It Started in Naples (1960).
The song "Banke Kitab Teri" from the film became popular. [5] The duo then went on to compose music for over 20 films. Their initial successes included Bewafa Sanam (1995), a film which was breakthrough for playback singer Sonu Nigam, English Babu Desi Mem (1996), Uff Yeh Mohabbat (1997) and Papa The Great (2000). Sonali Bendre is an Indian actress widely known for her work in Hindi and Telugu films. She made her debut at the age of nineteen with the action-drama Aag , in 1991, which was a box office hit. Bendre's performance earned her Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year and Screen Award for Best Female Debut.
