The Act of Union (Ireland) 1800 (40 Geo. 3 c. 38), [8] an Act of the Parliament of Ireland. They were passed on 2 July 1800 and 1 August 1800 respectively, and came into force on 1 January 1801. They ratified eight articles which had been previously agreed by the British and Irish parliaments:
