Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke left the PBC to join the Conference Carolinas after the 2020-21 academic year. Alabama–Huntsville and Shorter rejoined the PBC as affiliate members for men's lacrosse (with former full member Montevallo also rejoining that sport) in the 2022 spring season (2021-22 academic year).
