GSTV was launched on 9 December 2012. [3] It is the brainchild of the doyen of Gujarati media Shreyans Shah [5] who ran the premier Gujarati newspaper Gujarat Samachar.This was the first channel in Gujarat to have an open studio.
As a result, in June 2009, ATN rebranded the network ATN Gujarati and began supplying much of its programming from TV9.
