Each episode consists of a Quick Draw McGraw cartoon, an Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy cartoon, and a Snooper and Blabber cartoon. All episodes were written by Michael Maltese. In total, 45 episodes were produced and aired in first-run syndication across three seasons from September 28, 1959 to October 20, 1961.
Augie, who loved his father, would often refer to him as "dear old Dad". Her two best friends are Shag Rugg and Yakky Doodle. Augie's origins were revealed in the episode “The Big Stink” when her father explained why he was not effected by the Stink.

When Augie has a bad dream about a bagel monster, Doggie Daddy and others entertain her with a bedtime story. After Augie's Wobbly Womp claims that the monster under the bed might get her, other Jellystone citizens show up to tell different stories. Yogi, Boo Boo, and Cindy tell the story on how they tried to save the life of a sandwich.
