William Van Duzer Lawrence IV (born December 26, 1968) is an American television producer, screenwriter, and director.He is the creator of the series Scrubs and co-creator of shows including the live-action Cougar Town, Spin City, Ground Floor, Ted Lasso, and Shrinking, and the animated series Clone High, in which he also voiced the leader of the shadowy figures.
"No Scrubs" is a song recorded by American girl group TLC as the lead single from their third studio album, FanMail, released on February 2, 1999, by LaFace Records and Arista Records. The song was written by producer Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs , former Xscape members Kandi Burruss and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle , and TLC member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes .
The character has the same name as a former writing partner of series writer Bill Callahan; the two previously wrote for Spin City, which was co-created by Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence. Callahan and Wen parted ways in 2003 while working on 8 Simple Rules, a year before Callahan joined the show's writing staff.
In 2000, she won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for her work on the TLC hit song "No Scrubs".
