Universal Amphitheatre (later known as Gibson Amphitheatre) was an indoor amphitheatre located in Los Angeles, California within Universal City. It was built as an outdoor venue, opening in the summer of 1972 with a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. It was remodeled and converted into an indoor theatre in 1982 to improve acoustics.
Through the 1990s Gibson was moving to expand and diversify its brands, and by the late 1990s they had decided to acquire the "Valley Arts" name as an outgrowth of the Gibson Custom Shop. In late 2002 Valley Arts reopened as a music store, repair facility and small manufacturer specializing in custom guitars in downtown Nashville. [2]
Roberts Projects was founded in 1999 as Roberts & Tilton by partners Bennett Roberts, [1] Julie Roberts and Jack Tilton in Los Angeles. [2] Following the death of Jack Tilton (1951– 2017), [3] the gallery changed its name to Roberts Projects on January 1, 2018.
