At 16:14 PST (08:14 UTC) on November 17, 2023, the province of Sarangani on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines was struck by an earthquake measuring 6.7 M ww. It had a maximum perceived intensity of VIII (Severe) on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale. At least eleven people were killed and another 730 were treated for injuries.

It had a maximum perceived Intensity V on the PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale. [1] No damage or injuries were reported but a young man was killed by the earthquake.
