This is a list of the state parks in the U.S. State of Colorado. Colorado Parks and Wildlife manages the state park system to accommodate both outdoor recreation and tourism. There are currently forty-two parks open to the public, and there are others in development. [1] Colorado State Parks host over eleven million visitors each year.

Big Thicket National Park Texas 1973 On January 11th, 1973, S.314 was introduced by Senator Lloyd Bentsen, which would designate a Big Thicket National Park. It was purchased by the state in 1984 and opened to the public in 1987. It is representative of the karst features typically seen in the Hill Country, with many sinkholes, caves, and springs.
