According to the United States Census Bureau, North Adams has a total area of 20.6 square miles (53.4 km 2), of which 20.3 square miles (52.7 km 2) is land and 0.27 square miles (0.7 km 2), or 1.31%, is water. [12] North Adams is bordered by Clarksburg to the north, Florida to the east, Adams to the south, and Williamstown to the west.
All of the wastewater collected from the Great Lakes Water Authority sewer service area is treated at one facility, the GLWA Water Resource Recovery Facility. The Water Resource Recovery Facility is located at 9300 W. Jefferson Avenue, and is the second largest single-site wastewater treatment facility in North America.
He opened a tavern, and the community became known as Cutler's Corner. It was given a post office under that name on June 27, 1848. The post office was renamed North Adams on May 1, 1850, due to its northern location within Adams Township. Beaver Mill is a historic mill located in North Adams, Massachusetts. With a construction history dating to 1833, it is the oldest surviving mill building in the city, and was the first local acquisition of Sprague Electric, a major local employer in the 20th century.
