Maurice Rupert Bishop (29 May 1944 – 19 October 1983) was a Grenadian revolutionary and the leader of the New Jewel Movement (NJM) – a Marxist–Leninist party that sought to prioritise socio-economic development, education and black liberation.

After the European success of their previous album, E.S.P., the Gibb brothers began to work on the One album in early 1988. According to Maurice, this album was supposed to be their first album as a 4-brother group (along with their brother Andy officially joining the group), [5] but he suddenly died only a few days after his 30th birthday.
"One Last Cry" is a song co-written and co-produced by Brandon Barnes, Melanie Barnes and Brian McKnight. [6] The song was performed by American contemporary R&B singer Brian McKnight , issued in May 1993 by Mercury Records as the fourth single from his eponymous debut album (1992).
Maurice said "Whether something is a soft ballad or an uptempo thing, we would record it if we thought it was going to make a good single".
