Used third party software to "allow" for transferring DVD movie to acceptable file. Then I used a freeware program called WM Converter 2 to take that large .VOB file and transfer into .WMV which is the only thing that Zune will play (at least that is what I thought, not sure about MPEG4).
I bought a chinese MP3/MP4 player and the video file format is in a format called AMV. I made searches over internet and found no GUI software to convert video into this format. Do you think that it is possible to add this format to HandBrake?

Which version of MTR? If it's the old 2.6.6 free version (or for that matter, some of the newer ones) then it's known to butcher some DVDs. For maximum quality you're best ripping straight from DVD in Handbrake. Also, post a scan log from one of those sources.
That doesn't work with avi. MP4 will work. I have just tried a conversion avi->mp4 using HandBrake. But: I am overwhelmed with the variety of setting options. What settings would you recommend for converting AVI files to MP4? The quality should not get worse if possible. The size of the new file is is not very relevant.
