Chardon is a city in and the county seat of Geauga County, Ohio, United States. [ 7 ] [ 8 ] The population was 5,242 at the 2020 census . [ 9 ] It is the only incorporated city in Geauga County, and includes land that was once part of Chardon , Hambden and Munson townships. [ 10 ]
The fair takes place in Chardon, Ohio in the Chardon Courthouse Square District. Chardon is located in northeast Ohio, about 35 miles east of Cleveland. [2] The festival was founded in 1926 in an attempt to market Ohio syrup in competition with Vermont syrup. [3] This festival went on hiatus in 1942–45 & 2020-21.
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.
