After understanding REL's design philosophy, for music, I think they got it right.-Fast, low group delay, keep step with mains-true subwoofer, steep cut-off >80 Hz Mine peak ~30 Hz, by 60 Hz -6 dB, 120 Hz -24 dB You only hear the subs <60 Hz REL have exceptionally low THD, 1.4% at 30 Hz 110 dB SPL. My peaks are closer to 100 dB so <1%.
The REL T/9x is the flagship subwoofer in the company's newly upgraded Serie Tx range. Never one to do things by half, REL has done more than simply give the line-up a cosmetic make-over. Having said that, the newly upgraded range does get a revised cabinet, but there's also an improved driver and beefed up amplification.
5-String Loving Music. Rel's models are music oriented subwoofers and are not designed to shake floors with movie explosions, thus the complains about extension, etc. The fact that Rels are designed for music is a big plus. That being said, there are speakers that are designed to be used without subwoofers.
According to REL, the range is intended to deliver a dynamic and affordable home cinema subwoofer. The HT/1205 uses a sealed enclosure, a forward-firing 12-inch (300mm) CarbonGlas driver, and a 500W Class D amplifier. The feature-set is fairly light, in order to keep the price down to a reasonable £699, but REL adds to the value by currently ...
The HT/1003 is the entry-level model, which uses a front-firing 10-inch driver and includes 300W of digital amplification. The range also includes the HT/1205, which has a 12-inch driver and 500W of amplification. REL's naming convention actually denotes the main characteristics of these new subs, so the HT/1003 is a Home Theatre (HT) subwoofer ...
Chicago metro, USA. Looking at a REL S/2 subwoofer at my dealer yesterday. It was advised to use the high level Neutrik Speakon cable connected directly to the amplifier speaker terminals. I have a two channel amplifier with one pair of speaker terminals. I asked if you connect the main speakers to the same terminals as the subwoofer cables in ...
Correct, the high level connection sounds much better and it is preferable according to Rel. Btw, if anyone is interested, this is the cable I tried and did not notice any difference. Analysis Plus REL Subwoofer Cable - 2.5 Meter - SpeakOn connector - Spades
The REL S/510 is the entry-level model in the company’s mid-range Serie S line-up of subwoofers. This sealed unit sports a forward-firing 10-inch driver, combined with a 12-inch downward-firing passive radiator for deeper bass extension. Like its big brother the S/812 it has a revised cabinet, sits on rails instead of feet, uses an upgraded ...
REL T-7 Subwoofer (2013) MSRP: £650.00. As a forum with a strong focus on multichannel audio, we tend to see subwoofers mainly as a means of giving us the all-important ‘point one’ of a 5, 6 or 7.1 channel soundtrack. Subs are designed with a view to receiving a carefully decoded channel of information intended specifically for it.
