Much like one pound of feathers weighs the same as one pound of concrete. Your body will *absorb* the nutrients from liquid quicker than solid foods.
of course, calories for exercise are often grossly overstated, and in order to fuel your body properly but not eat too much it's probably a good idea to start with a part of the exercise calories and check in 4-6 weeks how fast your weightloss really is, then adjust the food intake. I think it would get trickier if you were shallow or deep frying as you leave most of the oil behind in this instance.
