tristamgreen. • 4 mo. ago. I ran an Alpine ILX-W650 in my old Jeep Wrangler, and when I bought my 4th Gen 4Runner, it had the exact same headunit in it. I love this system, it's wonderful. Alpine also has a newer version out, i think it's the ILX-W750 that has a little more capability.
Otherwise, 4th gens looks much sportier, able to maneuver tight terrains (assuming upgraded tires and suspension) but gx is a bit more luxurious. Might as well get a limited/top of the line 4th gen 4runner with decent miles, and the latest years one. I went with the GX470 over a 4th gen 4r.
