Whitstable's secondary school is The Whitstable School, formerly The Community College Whitstable. It is a secondary modern school which changed its name from Sir William Nottidge School in 1998. In 2009, 25% of its pupils gained at least five GCSEs at grades A*–C – this increased to 37% in 2011. [ 59 ]

The Whitstable School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Whitstable, Kent, England.. It was established in 1952 as the Sir William Nottidge School and was known by this name until 1998 when it was changed to The Community College Whitstable.
As it was a fee-paying school, a free smaller school was set up in what is now St Mary's music block. The school, St Joseph's Primary School, grew until, in 1914, it was teaching 57 pupils with only 3 teachers. As St Mary's accumulated more pupils it bought surrounding buildings and land until it had enough classrooms to teach all of their pupils.
Middlewich Primary School caters for children from the older, northern, part of the town, [11] whilst St Mary's Catholic Primary School receives Catholic children from the town. [12] Byley Primary School and Wimboldsley Community Primary School serve children from outside the immediate bounds of the town.
St Mary's started life as a technical school for boys in 1954, and was located on the north side of Rutherford Street, [citation needed] a short street between Bath Lane and Westgate Road in Newcastle until September 1966. It then moved to its current site in Benton Park Road in Longbenton where it continued to be a boys-only school until 1977.
St Simon Stock is a mixed Roman Catholic comprehensive co-educational school with an academic and pastoral tradition. Its function is to serve the educational needs of Roman Catholic students in the Mid Kent area. The students of the school range from 11–18 years.
