The Congregational Union of Jamaica was formed in 1877. The Disciples of Christ (United States) started mission in 1839. Between 1870 and 1950 over 30 congregations were established. It became independent in the 1950s. Since the United Church was established, it has represented a strong presence of the Reformed faith in Jamaica. [1]

Bedwardism was founded in August Town, Saint Andrew Parish, in 1889 by Harrison "Shakespeare" Woods, an African-American emigrant to Jamaica, and named for Alexander Bedward (1848–1930 [1]), who was referred to as "That Prophet" and "Shepherd." It was one of the most popular Afro-Jamaican politico-religious movements from the 1890s to the 1920s.

The Sha'are Shalom Synagogue, officially the Kahal Kadosh Sha'are Shalom (Holy Congregation of the Gates of Peace), also known as the United Congregation of Israelites, is a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located in the city of Kingston, on the island of Jamaica.
