In December, just three months after its debut, Fox also begins airing episodes of the series on prime-time Sunday evenings (followed by the live-action sitcom Shaky Ground); however, the TV ratings fell short (as the show aired opposite the perennial favorite 60 Minutes), and the series was removed from this time slot in March 1993. The eight-part series is an adaptation of the Alan Alda 1981 film The Four Seasons, by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield for Netflix. It will be produced by Little Stranger Inc . [ 1 ] All three writers are executive producers, along with David Miner, Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond.

It is a sequel series to the 1957-1962 ABC series Maverick, as well the short-lived 1979 TV series Young Maverick, and that series' pilot, the 1978 TV movie The New Maverick, all of which starred Garner in the same role (though he appeared only briefly in Young Maverick).
