Cañas River Lacustrine Wetland (Spanish: Humedal Lacustrino Rio Cañas), is a protected area in Costa Rica, managed under the Tempisque Conservation Area, it was created in 1994 by decree 23075-MIRENEM.

Cañas River, also known as Río Cañas (English: Canas River), is a river in the municipality of Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is also known as Río Magueyes in the area where it flows through Barrio Magueyes, also in the municipality of Ponce. [5] This river is one of the 14 rivers in the municipality.

Cañas has an area of 682.2 km² [4] and a mean elevation of 86 metres. [2] The elongated canton touches the Tempisque River in the southwest. It keeps the Bebedero River and Tenorio River on its western boundary as it widens to encompass agricultural lowlands before climbing into the Cordillera de Guanacaste up to the Tenorio Volcano.
