Prior to July 2015, there was no official logo for the UP Fighting Maroons. The University Seal was used in the uniforms of the university's student-athletes. The UP System's registered trademarks such as the Oblation and sometimes the university seal were used to represent the university's varsity team in UAAP broadcasts. [ 2 ]

The Fighting Maroons won there first championship title in NCAA in the NCAA Season 0 (1924–1925), they also became the champions in NCAA Season 1 (1925–1926), and NCAA Season 2 (1926–1927) (as 3–peat champions). UP Fighting Maroons won their last championship in the NCAA in NCAA Season 5 (1929–1930).
The UP Fighting Maroons women's volleyball program is the women's collegiate varsity volleyball team of the University of the Philippines. Founded in the same year as the first season of its major league, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the team was the first-ever champion of the said collegiate league. The University of the Philippines Varsity Pep Squad, more popularly known as the UP Pep Squad or simply UP Pep, was formed in 1994. Beginning as a group of 5 UP basketball fans known as the "Hecklers", the squad eventually became the official cheerleading and cheerdance team of the University of the Philippines .
