These three tools can be combined in different ways. Most common is the three-in-one Czech tool, which consists of a tamper, reamer and pick joined together. A pipe knife is another three-in-one tool: the reamer and pick fold into the casing in the same fashion as a pocketknife, while the blunt end is used as a tamper. A pipe nail is a nail ...
A reamer is a type of rotary cutting tool used in metalworking. Precision reamers are designed to enlarge the size of a previously formed hole by a small amount but with a high degree of accuracy to leave smooth sides. There are also non-precision reamers which are used for more basic enlargement of holes or for removing burrs.
Reaming itself can be conducted either in an existing borehole ("pilot reaming") or during the drilling operation ("reaming while drilling"). Underreaming is primarily used to allow a wider clearance for running and cementing the casing correctly, either due to restrictions (swelling shales, tortuosity) or to be able to run a larger casing size.
Rotary assemblies [2] are commonly used where formations are predictable and the rig economics are an issue. In such an assembly the weight of the drill collars gives the BHA the tendency to sag or flex to the low side of the hole, collar stiffness length and stabiliser diameter and placement are engineered as a means of controlling the flex of the BHA.
A gimlet is a hand tool for drilling small holes, mainly in wood, without splitting. It was defined in Joseph Gwilt's Architecture (1859) as "a piece of steel of a semi-cylindrical form, hollow on one side, having a cross handle at one end and a worm or screw at the other". [1] A gimlet is always a small tool.
Cheater bars are usually used to free threaded pipe, screws, bolts, and other fasteners that are difficult to remove with a ratchet or pipe wrench alone. They are also commonly used to operate valves.
A file is a tool used to remove fine amounts of material from a workpiece. It is common in woodworking , metalworking , and other similar trade and hobby tasks. The patterns are designed to look good, but also to distribute light and wind in a calming and beautiful way. [ 5 ] Traditionally it is made with hand-tools only, but in the western society they have made new techniques to make these kinds of patterns, it involves a table saw, a sharp chisel, and some guides made by yourself, some can be made ...
