Many things can contribute to itchy skin after a hysterectomy. Along with normal post-op surgery itches, you might be experiencing a change in hormone levels. Hormone surges cause hot flashes, which can also feel like itching. Any pain medications (especially containing codeine) that you are taking can also cause itching.

I'm 2 weeks post LAVH surgery and today my waterproof dressings for my belly button was finally taken off in my very first post op review. I have been truly blessed with a great dr and hosp experience. Immediately after my hyst I pushed my pain button because of pressure in lower abdomen and pain like menstrual cramps. It didn’t help alot but tramadol in iv removed it. Had that every 6 hours maybe 3 times then home with script for percocet that I didn’t fill.
