Alvin E. Roth. Alvin Eliot Roth (born December 18, 1951) is an American academic. He is the Craig and Susan McCaw professor of economics at Stanford University and the Gund professor of economics and business administration emeritus at Harvard University. [2] He was President of the American Economic Association in 2017.
Biography. Roth is the son of Alvin E. Roth, a former Harvard University professor who won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2012. [2] He earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Columbia University in 2006, [3] and his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University under the supervision of Avrim Blum. [1]

Allan Roth (born Abraham Roth; May 17, 1917 – March 3, 1992) was a Canadian baseball and hockey statistician and an early proponent of sabermetrics in baseball. During his career, Roth worked for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers as their official statistician from 1947 to 1964.
