Kanapaha was a community southwest of Gainesville at , on the Florida Railroad midway to Archer. The community included the Haile Plantation and the Kanapaha Presbyterian Church, founded in 1858, which still meets in a building constructed in 1886. A post office was established in 1887 and closed in 1907.
