Otukpo is a town in Benue State, Nigeria located in the Middle Belt Region of Nigeria. It is also the eponymous name of a subgroup of the Idoma people . Otukpo is the headquarters of the Otukpo Local Government Area.

Ujah was born on 6 November, 1954 and is from Aidogodo-Okpoga, Okpokwu, Benue State. [2] He studied medicine at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and graduated in June 1978. He started working as a lecturer and consultant at University of Jos and Jos University Teaching Hospital in 1988. He became a professor in 2001. [3]
The university was founded in 1992 and served 306 students with 149 faculty. [1] The university was established by the state government to augment the specialized academic offerings of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi. In 1991, the state government formed a 13-member steering committee to plan for and obtain approval for the university.
