The British National Hill Climb Championship is a hill climbing competition held annually by Cycling Time Trials with the location varying year on year. The first edition was in 1944 and it has been won by some of the best all-round British cyclists, such as Brian Robinson , Paul Curran , Malcolm Elliot , Chris Boardman and Jeff Williams .

USA Climbing is the national governing body of the sport of competition climbing in the United States. [1] As a 501(c)3 non-profit, they promote Sport Climbing which comprises three competition disciplines: bouldering , lead climbing , and speed climbing , in elite, youth and collegiate formats.
The first R.A.C. Hill Climb Championship event was held in September, 1964. [1] In the mid 1990s the track was extended to 1,584 yards (1,448 m). As of 2023, the outright hill record holder was Matt Ryder , whose time of 46.39 seconds was set on 3 July 2022 in that day's 2nd Top 12 Runoff.
