Digital Fine Contrast is a contrast-enhancing display technology introduced in 2006 by LG Display. It is used in the company's "Flatron" line of TFT monitors and implements a 'smart function' whereby it dynamically detects the characteristics of each frame to be displayed and automatically adjusts its contrast to obtain a sharper and more vivid image.
0.01 ms [10] to less than 1 μs, [11] but limited by phosphor decay time (around 5 ms) [12] 1–8 ms typical (according to manufacturer data), older units could be as slow as 35 ms [13] Typically less than 0.01 ms, as low as 2 μs, [10] [14] but limited by phosphor decay time (around 5 ms) Estimates varying from under 0.01 ms to as low as 1 μs.
The second-generation Macintosh, launched in 1987, came with colour (and greyscale) capability as standard, at two levels, depending on monitor size—512×384 (1/4 of the later XGA standard) on a 12" (4:3) colour or greyscale (monochrome) monitor; 640×480 with a larger (13" or 14") high-resolution monitor (superficially similar to VGA, but at ...
In LCDs it is the number of times the image can be changed per second, expressed in hertz (Hz). Determines the maximum number of frames per second (FPS) a monitor is capable of showing. Maximum refresh rate is limited by response time. Response time is the time a pixel in a monitor takes to change between two shades. The particular shades ...
On larger CRT monitors (17 in or 43 cm or larger), most people experience mild discomfort unless the refresh is set to 72 Hz or higher. A rate of 100 Hz is comfortable at almost any size. However, this does not apply to LCD monitors. The closest equivalent to a refresh rate on an LCD monitor is its frame rate, which is often locked at 60 fps ...
Edge enhancement is an image processing filter that enhances the edge contrast of an image or video in an attempt to improve its acutance (apparent sharpness).. The filter works by identifying sharp edge boundaries in the image, such as the edge between a subject and a background of a contrasting color, and increasing the image contrast in the area immediately around the edge.

[citation needed] LG Electronics is also the world's second largest television manufacturer behind Samsung Electronics. The company has 128 operations worldwide, employing 83,000 people. [3]
This lag time has been measured as high as 68 ms, [1] or the equivalent of 3-4 frames on a 60 Hz display. Display lag is not to be confused with pixel response time, which is the amount of time it takes for a pixel to change from one brightness value to another. Currently the majority of manufacturers quote the pixel response time, but neglect ...
