Keith Jarrett (born May 8, 1945) is an American pianist and composer. [1] Jarrett started his career with Art Blakey and later moved on to play with Charles Lloyd and Miles Davis . Since the early 1970s, he has also been a group leader and solo performer in jazz , jazz fusion , and classical music .
Keith Jarrett's recording career as a leader began in 1967 with the company of Charlie Haden on double-bass and Paul Motian on drums. With the addition of Dewey Redman on tenor saxophone in 1971 (Atlantic sessions), the trio metamorphosed into a quartet which, according to different sources, didn't start working steadily until 1973.
