Chennai City FC was founded in 1946, [16] as "Nethaji Sports Club" during the British rule in India. [17] The club was named after "Netaji" Subhas Chandra Bose . [ 18 ] It was incorporated by S. V. Kanagasabai, E. Vadivelu, T. R. Govindarajan, P. V. Chellappa, and K. Ekambaram. [ 19 ]

He began his professional career with I-League club Chennai City. He made his debut for the club on 28 February 2021 against Aizawl. He came on as a 12th-minute substitute after Chennai City's starting goalkeeper, Kabir Thaufiq, was red carded. [1] Chennai City would go on to lose the match 3–0. [1]
