The Jeff Ruby Steaks (a homophone of the word Stakes, for commercial reasons) [1] is a Grade III American thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds at a distance of a one and one-eighth miles on the synthetic track in late March at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky.
His son Bret was the morning line oddsmaker for Ellis Park in 2010 and 2011, [3] and has been the oddsmaker at Turfway Park since December 2013. [ 4 ] Battaglia was a member of the NBC Sports broadcast team for the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes from when the network gained broadcast rights in 2001 until 2016.
