Maputo Nakuzandza (transl. Maputo, I Love You) is a 2022 Brazilian-Mozambican mystery drama thriller film written and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Ariadine Zampaulo. The film was officially selected for the international film premiere at the 34th International Film Festival Marseille.
In order to be more faithful to the period Desmundo is set, Fresnot—beyond of using clothing, furniture and costumes—decided that the characters would speak in archaic Portuguese. He said it was a "very hard decision", but felt it would seem shallow to use colloquial language in a historical film.

Tsafendas was born in Lourenço Marques (today's Maputo) in Mozambique, then a colony of Portugal.His parents were Michalis Tsafandakis (Greek: Μιχάλης Τσαφαντάκης, also spelled Miguel Tsafandakis), a Greek marine engineer with anarchist leanings [3] from Kitharida, a small village near Heraklion, Crete, and Amelia Williams, a Mozambican woman of mixed race.
