Monrovia, also known as Vaughn Corners or Thompson Mill, is an unincorporated community in Madison County, Alabama, United States. It is bordered on the south by the city of Madison , on the southeast by the city of Huntsville , on the west by Limestone County and on the north by the community of Harvest .
The average land area is 756 sq mi (1,958 km 2). The largest county is Baldwin (1,590 sq mi, 4,118 km 2) and the smallest is Etowah (535 sq mi, 1,386 km 2). [8] The Constitution of Alabama requires that any new county in Alabama cover at least 600 square miles (1,600 km 2) in area, effectively limiting the creation of new counties in the state. [9]

The metro area's principal city is Huntsville, and consists of two counties: Limestone and Madison. As of the 2020 United States census , the Huntsville Metropolitan Area's population was 491,723, making it the 2nd-largest metropolitan area in Alabama (behind only the Birmingham metropolitan area ) and the 113th-largest in the United States.
U.S. Route 31 (US 31) in Alabama runs north–south up through the heart of Alabama for 386.449 miles (621.929 km). US 31 proper begins at a junction with US 90 and US 98 in Spanish Fort and exits the state into Tennessee running concurrently with Interstate 65 (I-65) near Ardmore.
U.S. Route 82 in Alabama runs northwest to southeast across the northwestern and central Alabama for 240.080 miles (386.371 km). The route enters from Mississippi east of Columbus, Mississippi and exits into Georgia across the Chattahoochee River at Eufaula .
