Holt United Football Club [33] was formed in 1894 and was a founder member of the North Norfolk and Norwich League, which began in 1895. In 1927 the club joined the Norwich and District League and went on to win this league on five occasions.

The league was established in 1897, starting with six clubs, Beccles Caxton, Great Yarmouth Town, Kirkley, Lowestoft Town, Lynn Town and Norwich CEYMS. [1] Lowestoft won the inaugural league title and went on to win six of the first seven championships. [1]

Born in Carlisle, Holt joined Carlisle United at a young age and went onto make his first-team debut during their EFL Trophy tie against Fleetwood Town in November 2016, featuring for 28 minutes in the 4–2 victory. [2] Following his debut campaign, Holt agreed to join Northern Premier League side, Workington on loan in August 2017. [3]
Grant Holt (born 12 April 1981) is an English professional footballer who plays for Dereham Town. During his football career, Holt played as a forward for a number of non-league and professional clubs, making nearly 100 league appearances for Nottingham Forest before signing for Shrewsbury Town in 2008 where he became top goalscorer.
