It might make a bit more sense to just create a designated infinite bullet for that purpose, and it would probably be easier to make balance modifications ...
Terrarian. Mar 24, 2023. #1. Ammo consumption bonuses are mild QoL at best and a nothingburger at worst. Especially now that we always have a fallback plan in the form of endless pouches and quivers. Other placable class gizmos affect our combat prowess, would be pleasant to give the ammo box something as well. Last edited: Mar 25, 2023.
There is a 0.8 chance (1 - 0.2) to consume ammo with the Ammo Box. Since all of those events have to occur together, one after the other, for the ammo to not be consumed, we multiply them: 0.5 x 0.8 x 0.8 = 0.32 (32% is the chance to use the ammo) Finally, to convert this from consuming to preserving ammo, we do 1 - 0.32 = 0.68.

If you have 2 items that give a 50% ammo conservation, it still won't be a 100%. As far as I know, 2x50% chance makes the game roll the dice twice when firing a bullet.
I hear your concerns and i understand. thanks for the feedback. we will adjust the ammounts recieved accordingly. however i must correct you on some points: 1. ammoboxes CAN drop the modded ammotypes. you probably just where unlucky. but if we get more of that complaint we may change it so that only modded ammo comes out.
I think that it would be nice to have buff stations automatically buff players when they spawn next to them. Maybe a 5-block square around a players spawn that, when there is a buff station in that square, the player spawns with the buff activated already. I always forget to activate buff...
No, this cannot be used as a method of duplication as the Coin Gun doesn't create a coin pile when the projectile hits a block unlike the sand gun but the coin simply disappears. Terrarian. The Shell Box is bought from the Arms Dealer in Hardmode for 20 gold. A grey metal box, the Shell Box is an item that, when in the inventory, collects Empty Bullets from the guns you fire. It also collects Musket Balls. It does this recycling effect on average with 1 in 5 rounds. Open the box with right click to pick up these things.
