During Wood Dickinson's appointment to office, Dickinson Theatres opened its first 12-screen motion picture entertainment complex, the SouthGlen Theatre in suburban Overland Park, Kansas, as well as the new Plaza Cinema 6 facility in Leavenworth, Kansas. In 2008, NCG built a new 12-screen theater near Acworth, Georgia. In 2012, NCG acquired a ten-screen cinema in Marietta, Georgia, from Regal Entertainment Group. The theater was closed in August 1987 by then owners Dickinson Theaters, because competition from Dickinson's mall theaters made the downtown location unprofitable.
