Unlike most other NCAA-sponsored sports, the men's gymnastics championship is not separated into divisions and uses a single National Collegiate tournament instead. Currently, only 15 schools sponsor NCAA men's gymnastics teams, with three of them outside of Division I: Greenville University, Simpson College, Springfield College (Division III). [2]
The 2023 U.S. Classic, known as the 2023 Core Hydration Classic for sponsorship purposes, [1] was the 39th edition of the U.S. Classic gymnastics competition. The event was held on August 4–6, 2023 at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois .
These championships were hosted by the University of Chicago at Bartlett Gymnasium in Chicago, Illinois. Hosts Chicago, led by coach Dan Hoffer, topped the team standings and claimed the inaugural team title. The individual all-around championship went to Joe Giallombardo from Illinois.

The 2017 U.S. Classic, known as the 2017 Secret U.S. Classic for sponsorship reasons, was the 34th edition of the U.S. Classic gymnastics tournament. The competition was held on July 29, 2017, at the Sears Centre Arena in the Hoffman Estates suburb of Chicago, Illinois .
Gymnastics is a sport at the World University Games (formerly branded as the Universiade, before 2020). [1] It was first contested in 1961 as an optional sport, and turned compulsory in 1963. Since then, it has been out of the program twice, in 1975 and 1989.
