The cingulum is described from various brain images as a C-shaped structure within the brain that wraps around the frontal lobe to the temporal lobe right above the corpus callosum. It is located beneath the cingulate gyrus within the medial surface of the brain therefore encircling the entire brain.
Coronal section of brain. Cingulate cortex is shown in yellow. The cingulate cortex is a part of the brain situated in the medial aspect of the cerebral cortex. The cingulate cortex includes the entire cingulate gyrus, which lies immediately above the corpus callosum, and the continuation of this in the cingulate sulcus.
A nervous system tumor is a tumor that arises within the nervous system, either the central nervous system (CNS) or the peripheral nervous system (PNS). [1] [2] Nervous system primary tumors include various types of brain tumor and spinal tumors, such as gliomas, and meningiomas (of the CNS), and schwannomas (of the PNS) and can be either benign or malignant.
The American Cancer Society notes that a person's odds of developing a malignant (cancerous) brain or spinal tumor are less than 1%, with women having slightly higher chances than men.

Dr. Nagpal says that the rarer form of brain cancer is a primary brain tumor, which is a tumor that starts in the brain. Some primary brain tumors are malignant while others are benign.
The posterior cingulate cortex is highly connected and one of the most metabolically active regions in the brain, but there is no consensus as to its cognitive role. [4] [5] Cerebral blood flow and metabolic rate in the PCC are approximately 40% higher than average across the brain. The high functional connectivity of the PCC, signifies ...
The dorsal part of the ACC is connected with the prefrontal cortex and parietal cortex, as well as the motor system and the frontal eye fields, [6] making it a central station for processing top-down and bottom-up stimuli and assigning appropriate control to other areas in the brain.
