This is the list of world records progression in women's weightlifting. Records are maintained in each weight class for the snatch lift, clean and jerk lift, and the total for both lifts. The International Weightlifting Federation restructured its weight classes in 2018, nullifying earlier records.

Henry McGhee, described as the "primary architect of competitive female bodybuilding", was an employee of the Downtown Canton YMCA, carried a strong belief that women should share the opportunity to display their physiques and the results of their weight training the way men had done for years.
Nikki Fuller (born January 23, 1968) is an American professional female bodybuilder. At her largest, Fuller weighed 200 lb (91 kg). In competition, her height was listed at 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) and her biceps measured 18 in (457 mm). Some of her best lifts are 315 lb (143 kg) for a max on bench press and 1100 lbs for multiple reps on leg press.
