I was absolutely counting on catching the David's bridal 99 dollar sale at some point to have a wider selection in my budget because I pretty much can't afford anywhere else where I live. Even the consignment dress shop starts at 800.
@Flower Girl. Just a heads up. If you do pick a dress at David's Bridal on this type of sale take THAT DRESS. Do not let them send you another one. I ended up finding a dress at David's Bridal that I loved that was being discontinued, so it was on sale ($500 less). It fit perfectly with very minor alterations.
Not sure when David’s is having a sale but make sure to ask when you pick and order your dress that you are getting a NEW dress.. Mine was $400 marked down from $600 (on sale but not the $99 sale) and what I received was a damaged stretched out sample dress from another store..

With the $99 dresses, not all stores have every dress on sale for $99 and normally the stock and sizes are very limited. When this current $99 sale started, my store only had 27 dresses TOTAL. And that's a mixture of sizes 0-25 and styles.
I was also told that they do the $99 sale once a year. I've was looking for an entire 8 months before I bought my dress. That entire time they had the $99 one time. They did have same sales like 40% and stuff like that. Good luck with your shopping
And on another note...If someone bought a dress for $99.00 and needed a hem, the bodice taken in, and a bustle....another person bought a the exact same style of dress at full price and needed the same alterations....It would cost the same price for alterations. It takes just as long to sew on a sale priced dress as a full priced dress.
Whats crazy is that the exact same dress i found on davidsbridal.com in the sample sale for $500 is $1200 in the actual Davids Bridal store. So ladies if you find something in the store I would HIGHLY suggest checking online before you buy it in store. Rebecca - I was one size larger at Davids Bridal than I normally wear.
I got a bridesmaid dress there a few years ago. The shopping experience was fine. The actual dresses are cheaply made. Polyester, bad stitching. (If you're buying a $99 dress, that's fine but it's not what you want in a $500+ dress.) Once the dress arrived it was terrible. They refused to hold it at the store for more than a week.
Im pretty sure Davids Bridal has a policy that says they dont do price matches... I was in the same situation only my dress got knocked down to $99! I was a little mad but I was told nothing could be done and that my dress was non refundable at time of purchase (it was being discontinued!)
