The Great Commandment (or Greatest Commandment) [a] is a name used in the New Testament to describe the first of two commandments cited by Jesus in Matthew 22:35–40, Mark 12:28–34, and in answer to him in Luke 10:27a: ... and one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. Mark 12 is the twelfth chapter of the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament of the Christian Bible.It continues Jesus' teaching in the Temple in Jerusalem, and contains the parable of the Wicked Husbandmen, Jesus' argument with the Pharisees and Herodians over paying taxes to Caesar, and the debate with the Sadducees about the nature of people who will be resurrected at the end of time.
