Nina is a 2016 American biographical film written and directed by Cynthia Mort. The film focuses on American musician and civil rights activist Nina Simone, portrayed by Zoe Saldaña. The film also stars David Oyelowo, Ella Thomas, and Mike Epps. It has a limited release beginning April 22, 2016, and through video on demand by RLJ Entertainment.
The movie was filmed in 2011 on the Feisley Tree farm in Belmont, Ohio and in the Wheeling, West Virginia area. The film premiered at the Capitol Theatre in Wheeling in December 2013, coinciding with a DVD release by Green Apple Entertainment (U.S.) and Spotlight Pictures (international).

All About Nina is a 2018 comedy-drama film, written and directed by Eva Vives, in her feature directorial debut. It stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Common, Chace Crawford, Jay Mohr, Kate del Castillo and Beau Bridges. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 22, 2018. [2]
It was announced in March 2018 that Ben Platt, Nina Dobrev, Mena Massoud and Damian Lewis were cast in the film. [2] Filming began the next month in Toronto, along with the additions of Jennifer Ehle, Scott Speedman and Gil Bellows to the cast. Lewis, playing the role of Ford, was spotted on set in extensive makeup and donning a body suit. [3] [4]
