Canterbury West railway station is a Grade II listed railway station, and the busier of the two stations in Canterbury in Kent, England. The station as well as all services are operated by Southeastern with both main line and high speed trains serving the station.
Canterbury East's ticket barriers were removed in early 2011, as they were the only ones of the kind in the country and spare parts were no longer easy to obtain. Bekesbourne railway station is on the Dover branch of the Chatham Main Line; it serves the villages of Bekesbourne and Patrixbourne, in Kent, England.It is sited 64 miles 58 chains (104.2 km) down the line from London Victoria, situated between Canterbury East and Adisham.
The station opened with the Canterbury and Whitstable Railway on 3 May 1830. The South Eastern Railway took over the Canterbury and Whistable in 1844. The whole line was upgraded to allow full operation by locomotives and passenger services were diverted to Canterbury West in 1846. [1] North Lane station closed to freight in 1891. [2]
