The Chinese Cemetery of Los Angeles is one of several historical cemeteries found around East Los Angeles, including Evergreen and Calvary cemeteries. Located at First Street and Eastern Avenue in the Belvedere Gardens section of East Los Angeles, today the cemetery is now bordered on the south by the Pomona Freeway (60) and on the east by the Long Beach Freeway (710).
Arcadia Bandini de Stearns Baker died in 1912, at age 85, [6] and was interred between her husbands at Calvary Cemetery, East Los Angeles. [25] It is estimated that 2,000 people attended her funeral, held in St. Vibiana's Cathedral, which is a testament to her status as a public figure and pillar of the community. [4]
After fifteen years in Los Angeles, Manning retired as archbishop on June 4, 1985. He took up residence at Holy Family Parish in South Pasadena.
