Ghanasco was originally called Ghana College. The school was established in 1960 by the Government of Ghana, under Kwame Nkrumah, as one of the Ghana Education Trust Schools. [6] It has a student population of about 2,800. [7] It is the second largest school in the northern region after Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco). [8]
