WORCESTER ― An 88-year-old man died Friday afternoon when he was hit by a car driven by an acquaintance, according to police. The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. at Park Avenue and Parker Street.
The pedestrian, identified as 79-year-old German Perez Ortiz, Jr. of Surprise, died at the scene. DPS is currently working a collision in the southbound lanes of Loop 303 near West Peoria.
The driver left the scene without stopping and rendering aid, police said.
