After relying on the CC boards so much as I planned our trip, I want to pay it forward by sharing our experiences on our Alaskan cruise aboard HA's Koningsdam. We were a group of 6, ranging from 40-80 in age, and everyone had cruised before, although not with Holland America. Since it was our fir...

This recent cruise was booked somewhat spontaneously at the end of February, and we set sail on April 20th. The best accommodation available to us at that time was a premium suite (S5) on deck 11, forward cabin B102, featuring a bedroom with a large picture window overlooking the ship’s front and a separate living room with a balcony.
When I was deciding on what excursions to take on my upcoming cruise, I found it so helpful to read the reviews on NCL's website. Some excursions that sounded great had some terrible reviews and others enlightened me that it might be an hour catamaran ride followed by a 45 minute bus ride to get ...
We have only done 1 X shore Excursion and we were pleasantly surprised. Last year one of our ports was Marseilles and I want to visit the village of St Remy and Les Baux and could not find private tour so chose ship's tour. although it was on a big bus it was very nice and as a complete surprise and not listed in the itinerary was a visit to Carrieres de Lumieres and old quarry that features ...
This review is for Carnival Venezia on January 23, 2024, a 10-day round-trip from New York to 4 Caribbean ports. Our most recent prior cruise was on Emerald Princess in November 2023, so I will make a lot of comparisons to Princess. Ship’s Public Areas. I thought the Venezia had a pretty and interesting design.
So we switched to ship tours, the included in the AM and punting on the Avon in PM. The 6.5 hr optional departed at Noon, but the ship was due to weigh anchor at 17:30, so our scheduled return at the tender dock was 1 hr after departure. Since it was a ship's tour, we weren't concerned, but eagerly awaited info on how they planned to resolve.
Well done review. Can't say the same for the cabin design. Not enough closet space for more than a 7 day cruise. Heaven forbid a world cruise. Tiny bath room and very narrow room. The HAL old Zaadam is much bigger for an inside cabin. And how does one sit on the sofa and watch the Telly?
