Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko [note 1] (English: Andrew Thaddeus Bonaventure Kosciuszko; [note 2] 4 or 12 February 1746 – 15 October 1817) was a Polish military engineer, statesman, and military leader who then became a national hero in Poland, the United States, Lithuania, and Belarus.
There is also a Polish school named after Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Polska Szkola im. Tadeusza Kosciuszki or the Thaddeus Kosciuszko School of Polish Language. In 1951 Mrs. Maria Zamora established the first classroom and now its one of the oldest and largest Polish language schools in the United States.

Brigadier General Thaddeus Kościuszko is a bronze statue honoring Polish military figure and engineer Tadeusz Kościuszko.The sculpture was dedicated in 1910, the third of four statues in Lafayette Square, Washington, D.C., to honor foreign-born heroes of the American Revolutionary War.
[1] He was married to Wirydianna Fiszerowa. An inhabitant of Poland, his family was originally from Germany. Between 1783 and 1788, he attended the Corps of Cadets and joined Tadeusz Kosciuszko's brigade which was part of Poland's Division. Under Kosciuszko's command he fought in the Polish-Russian war of 1792.
