Brixton Academy (originally known as the Astoria Variety Cinema, previously known as Carling Academy Brixton, currently named O 2 Academy Brixton as part of a sponsorship deal with the O 2 brand) is a mid-sized concert venue located in South London, in the Lambeth district of Brixton.
In 2015, the venue was acquired by Live Nation, and re-branded as O 2 Forum Kentish Town as part of the O 2 Academy Group. [ 3 ] The venue has standing downstairs and benches seating in booths on the upstairs balcony, or a fully seated layout for certain shows.
The deal saw eleven UK venues renamed O2 Academies from 1 January 2009, with O2 customers able to buy tickets to gigs up to two days before others. [1] The deal also involved music promoter Live Nation who own 51% of the venues. [2] In July 2017, O2, Live Nation and Academy Music Group renewed the agreement for a further ten years. [3]

Islington Assembly Hall is a live music venue and events space on Upper Street, Islington, London. It forms part of the Islington Town Hall complex. It has a capacity of 890 for live events, including seating for 200 in its balcony. [1] Events other than music shows, such as public meetings, also take place there. [2]
In October 2011, the group appeared on Channel 5's OK TV to promote their British comeback gig at the O2 Academy Islington on 31 October 2011.
