Graham has played for Scotland U17 and Scotland U18 and made his Scotland U20 debut in 2014. [6] Graham played in all five of Scotland U20 matches in the 2015 U20 Six Nations tournament. He also played in the U20 World Cup for Scotland. He was named in the 2016 and 2019 Scotland Club XV Squad. [7]

A product of Hawick High School, Hogg played for Hawick Wanderers and Hawick Linden before moving to play for Hawick. Hogg moved to Edinburgh University to study; and he then played for Boroughmuir. In 1976, he was part of the Boroughmuir side that won the Melrose Sevens. [2]

His father, John, played rugby at full-back for Hawick and refereed. His brother, Graham Hogg played for Scotland in the IRB Sevens World Series and at under-18, under-19 and under-20. Hogg is a distant relative of soccer player George Best. [6] [7] Hogg was a pupil at Trinity Primary School and Hawick High School.
